ROME
ANCIENT OSTIA

Bible tour of Ostia Antica

Ancient Roman colony named Ostia is one of the largest archaeological site dating back to ancient Rome. During ancient Rome it was one of the most thriving cities in the region thanks to its status as Rome’s harbour city. Ancient traditions date its foundation to 620 BC by the hand of the fourth king of Rome, Anco Marzio, for reasons linked to the exploitation of the salt marshes placed at the mouth of the Tiber river, hence the name Ostia, from ostium = mouth.

ROME
THE BIBLE & ART

The Bible in Art and a guided tour at the Borghese Gallery

Rome is rich of great art from some of the greatest masters in history such as Michelangelo, Raphael, Bernini, Canova and so forth.

The Villa Borghese Pinciana, now home to the Borghese Gallery, was built to be a museum, a place of culture, for the display of exemplary images of ancient and modern art, for music, studies in a small library and much more.

The rich Borghese collection consists of ancient sculptures, bas-reliefs and mosaics, as well as paintings and sculptures from the 15th to the 18th century. The collection, initially established by Cardinal Scipione Borghese at the beginning of the 17th century, preserves masterpieces by Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Raphael, Tiziano, Correggio, Caravaggio and splendid sculptures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Canova.

FLORENCE
THE CRADLE OF RENAISSANCE

Bible and Classical tour of Florence

Surprisingly small as it is, this riverside city looms large on the world’s ‘must-sees’ list. Cradle of the Renaissance it preserves some of the greatest works of art and most beautiful buildings in the world. Florence (Firenze) is magnetic, romantic and busy. The passing of time has brought hardly any changes, its narrow streets evoke a thousand tales, and its food and wine are so wonderful that the label ‘Fiorentina’ has become an international brand of quality assurance.
In this tour you will also discover how, with the fall of the Roman Empire, religion has kept drifting away from pure worship and the misuse of the Bible.

The rediscovery of these hidden treasures has been a real gift not only for Italy but for the whole world. A cultural heritage that has made it possible to understand so much of life of ancient times, especially of the first century, the century of the early Christians.
